Mr. America #4

When you’re as old as Mr. America and you’ve been through as much nonsense as he has, your memory gets spotty. Now that I’m at least somewhat approaching Mr. America’s age, the same rules apply to me. If I read this correctly, this guy decides to name himself Mr. Evil because of a former Mr. Evil, one which Mr. America suddenly remembers, though he mistakes as the same fellow. Fed up with being identified as the guy he named his own self after, the new Mr. Evil evil suddenly switches gears and renames himself The Thing, but it’s too late — Mr. America ignores this update to have his flashback. Then he just recalls that maybe they might have met before and the story ends.

I’ll not argue with the logic that there was another gruesome guy in existence who was half scaly yuck and half pitch-black burn scar. I suppose it brings up all sorts of questions — back story, if you will — about that potion he takes. Is it the same potion the original Mr. Evil took back in World War 2? Does that mean it’s a Nazi potion, passed down through the decades?

Perhaps I was onto something there … as each future issue unfolds, I suppose we’ll find out if I actually realized I was onto something, or if I just moved on with my ideas.
